Revitalize your Eyes, recharge your confidence

Dr. Michael Bassiri-Tehrani uses the latest browlift techniques, cutting-edge technologies, artistic precision, and industry expertise to help bring your eyebrows to a more alert and youthful position, revitalizing your face and restoring strength and confidence to your overall appearance.

What is a brow lift?

Your eyebrows are an often overlooked, but integral, feature of the orbital region and upper part of your face. As you age, the skin on your forehead and around your eyes loses its elasticity, causing fine line and wrinkles to form.

A brow lift — also known as an endoscopic forehead lift — is a cosmetic surgical procedure that lifts, or tightens, the eyebrows and reduces the appearance of wrinkles and creases on the forehead.

An endoscopic brow lift is a highly individualized procedure that’s becoming increasingly popular among people who want to enhance their appearance and confidence by getting a more youthful look.

Unlike brow lifts of the past, an endoscopic brow lift is performed in a minimally invasive fashion using a surgical endoscope and camera connected to a monitor. Small access incisions hidden in the scalp allow for lifting of the eyebrows.

Typically, a brow lift is performed with other facial surgery procedures, such as an eyelid lift or facelift. Dr. Michael Bassiri-Tehrani can combine your brow lift with an endoscopic midface lift to elevate cheek fat pads that have descended over time. Careful use of this approach with preservation of muscles prevents the over lifted, surprised look.

What issues does a brow lift address?

One of the main reasons you might choose to undergo a brow lift is to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and creases on the forehead.

As we age, the skin on our forehead loses its elasticity, causing wrinkles and fine lines, or creases, to form. A brow lift can smooth out these lines and creases, giving you a more vibrant, confident look.

How an endoscopic brow lift works with Michael Bassiri-Tehrani, MD, PLLC

At our Manhattan office, you’ll sit down with double board-certified surgeon, Dr. Michael Bassiri-Tehrani, for a comprehensive consultation to discuss your current health, goals, and areas of need.

Based on this discussion, Dr. Michael Bassiri-Tehrani may recommend an endoscopic brow lift to meet your needs and desired results.

Instead of a single incision, Dr. Michael Bassiri-Tehrani will make several small incisions in your scalp during an endoscopic brow lift. Then, they’ll insert a small camera into each incision to guide their surgical instruments, which results in minimal scarring and a shorter recovery time.

This procedure is ideal if you need or want a more subtle improvement in the appearance of your brow area.

What to expect during recovery for a brow lift

After a brow lift, it’s normal to experience some swelling, bruising, and mild discomfort around the forehead and eye area. These effects typically peak within the first few days and gradually subside over the course of one to two weeks.

To help manage swelling and promote healing, your surgeon may recommend keeping your head elevated and using cold compresses.

You may also notice some tightness in the forehead as the tissues adjust, but this should improve as you heal.

Stitches or staples used to close the incisions are typically removed within a week. Most patients are able to return to light activities after about a week, though it’s important to avoid strenuous exercise or heavy lifting for at least two to three weeks.

While you’ll begin to see improvements soon after the procedure, it may take a few weeks for swelling to fully subside and the final results of your brow lift to become visible. Your surgeon will provide detailed aftercare instructions to ensure a smooth recovery and optimal results.
