Tip Stitch® Rhinoplasty: A Technique Dr. Bassiri coined
Tip Stitch® Rhinoplasty is a minimally invasive rhinoplasty procedure done in around 30-45 minutes, awake, with local anesthesia. It is performed through smaller internal incisions and is meant to stabilize, lift, and project the nasal tip using advanced suture techniques.
Unlike thread-lifting, which pulls on skin, Tip Stitch® Rhinoplasty targets and supports the structural cartilage of the nose using surgical rhinoplasty techniques, without the dissection and trauma of a full rhinoplasty. Most of the natural attachments of the nose stay intact, so a radically different or artificial appearance is unlikely — the overall spirit of the nose is preserved. Patients can expect to look like themselves, with a more stable, slightly more lifted nasal tip.
- Structure, not skin: the medial crura — the cartilage that holds the tip up — are what get engaged.
- Limited downside: because most of the natural nose is left intact, scar tissue is limited, and a larger surgery later is generally not compromised.
- Honest candidacy: patients who want a dramatic change to the shape of the nose are pointed toward a full open or closed rhinoplasty instead. Overly deviated noses may not be good candidates.
- Combines well: it is quick and easy to pair with other facial procedures.
Why Nasal Tip
Support Weakens
From roughly the 40s on, cartilage progressively weakens, and the posts that hold the nose tip up can buckle, so many people notice the tip has dropped over the years. Previous nasal surgery, genetics, and past trauma can do the same. Tip Stitch® Rhinoplasty is a way to restore a more youthful nose without transforming it.
